Reclaimed fabric appliqués
This series forms a new, personal mythos, blending abstract memory landscapes with otherworldly imagery. Many pieces draw references to jinn, the imaginal realm they live in, the fallen angel Iblis and more. Using reclaimed fabric, collage methods and applique techniques, creating this piece relies on a making-while-meditating mindset to evoke a sense of the collective unconscious through material exploration. Navigating these blended landscapes requires a deep imagination and understanding the emotional history of ancient land.
